15 Melbourne Airport Travel attractions

Melbourne Airport Travel attractions is a unique and energetic city, is well-known for its artistic, musical, and cultural scene. Melbourne is home to some of the most recognisable tourist destinations in South-east Australia since it serves as both the state capital of Victoria and the starting point of the Great Ocean Road.

It might be challenging to decide what to do in Melbourne if you’ve never been there before. It is home to a sizable gourmet and sports culture, as well as several world-class museums and galleries, unparalleled entertainment, and other attractions.

It’s difficult to create an agenda for Melbourne because there is so much to see and do.

So in order to assist you, we spoke with Steve Davidson, a resident of Melbourne for over 12 years. He has also shared with us his favourite undiscovered jewels because he is a local and is aware of all the best things to do in Melbourne.

Continue reading for Steve’s recommendations for the top places to eat, sleep, drink, shop, and explore if you are visiting Melbourne for the first time and are unsure of where to begin.

Melbourne truly has something to suit everyone, regardless of their preferences or financial situation. Melbourne is renowned for being among the world’s most liveable cities, and it has a thriving theatre, art, and music scene.

It is well recognised for being quite simple to navigate, especially on the Melbourne tramway system, as compared to other Australian cities. Navigating the streets is quite simple.

It is renowned for having a multitude of food and retail options that are unmatched in any other Australian city.

Many tourists who want to spend money have been drawn to the city’s shopping districts including Chapel and Fitzroy Streets and Sydney and Bridge Roads.

It’s no secret that Melbourne is a fantastic place for shoppers to spend their money. The city offers a variety of shopping options, including boutique shops, high-end luxury, and antique thrift stores.

I adore the downtown lanes for shopping, especially those that run between Flinders, Elizabeth, Bourke, and Swanston Streets. Little Collins Street is a fantastic place to get some of your money back.

Shopping in the city centre is actually quite enjoyable.

Small markets, tasty restaurants, and a taste of the Middle East can all be found in Brunswick, making it a terrific place to visit.

I enjoy Fitzroy’s cafés and restaurants, not to mention all the boutique stores, many of which cater to a young, trendy clientele. However, they are a little more costly than the others. Richmond and Prahran are also acceptable shopping districts. However, the locals find them to be rather popular.

They are quite popular with the locals though.

1. Top Views from Eureka Tower

Looking highest building and out at Eureka Tower and SouthbankAnyone searching for activities to do in Melbourne must visit Eureka Tower. With a height of 297 metres (88 floors), it has the tallest observation deck in the southern hemisphere and provides breathtaking views.

2. Watch An AFL or Cricket Game at Melbourne Cricket Ground

View of the Melbourne Cricket Ground stadium and the city’s iconic skyline at dusk in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
You must attend a game if you’re in town during the AFL (Australian Football League) season. Nothing else in our nation has the atmosphere that exists inside the enormous MCG.Be sure to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium if you can’t make it to a game. The grounds include a museum in addition to being a sports arena.

The renowned MCC Long Room, the players’ locker rooms, and the cricketers’ observation area are all accessible. The Ron Casey Media Centre is also accessible to visitors.

Learn more about Australia’s sporting heritage by visiting the Cricket Victoria Bill Lawry Centre and Australian Sports Museum.

3. Participate Into Melbourne’s Delicious Foodie Scene

4. Visit a Local Tavern or Bar

Riverland Tavern

If you’re searching for things to do in Melbourne at night, make sure to check out the bars as Melbourne is also well renowned for its bars and pubs. There are several locations in the city where you may have a nice, refreshing beverage, like The Workshop, Rooftop Bar, Cookie, and many more.

These are some cool spots to go out and drink in the evening. If you prefer drinks, Left Bank (near Freshwater Place) offers the greatest espresso martinis I’ve ever tasted, but there are plenty along the river in Southbank; wander along and select one – they are all fantastic. My personal favourite pubs are The Penny Black, The Retreat Hotel, and the Cornish Arms Hotel, all of which are located along Sydney Road.

5. Take a Day Trip Along the Great Ocean Road

Twelve Apostles

The Great Ocean Road is one of the main reasons why people visit Melbourne. This 250 km scenic drive starts just one hour outside of Melbourne in Torquay, and continues on to Warrnambool.

Along the way, you’ll pass incredible vistas, scenic viewpoints, impressive rock formations such as the iconic Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps and London Arch (London Bridge).

The drive is so scenic, that even though it can be completed in about 9 hours from one side to the other, many people choose to take the drive over a couple of days so they can stop and see all the amazing attractions along the way.

6. Visit Melbourne’s Gardens and Parks

Carlton Gardens in Melbourne

Despite being a big city, Melbourne is pretty green. There are many parks and gardens where you can escape the high-rise buildings and experience being in nature.

Pack a picnic and head off to the Royal Botanic Gardens or Carlton Gardens.

The Royal Botanic Gardens actually covers two sites in Melbourne and Cranbourne. The Melbourne Gardens were founded in 1846 and connect to the south side of the Yarra Valley It spans 38 hectares and offers a quiet place to relax among the trees, garden beds, lakes, and rivers.

Carlton Gardens is a World Heritage Site that sits on the northeastern edge of the Melbourne CBD. It’s most popular for its picnic and BBQ area, and even has its own wildlife such as the brushtail possum.

7. Explore out the Markets in Melbourne

Queen Victoria night market in Melbourne

Despite their notoriety, I don’t think the Queen Victoria Markets actually have anything to offer the typical visitor (apart from the ability to check that off your list). However, I buy there for my meat and produce, so it can be helpful if you’re living in a serviced apartment and want to save a lot of money on the necessities.

The Artist’s Market is the name of the Rose Street Markets in Fitzroy. Although it is modest in comparison to other markets, I truly enjoy the selection of apparel, accessories, and artwork that is offered there. Additionally, they provide some excellent coffee! There are several shopping locations to select from, and there is something for everyone. This is the shopping capital of Australia.Along with the markets at the Arts Centre, there are additional Sunday markets in St. Kilda. If you enjoy large shopping malls, you should visit Chadstone, which is located in the suburbs. Using public transportation to get there could be a little challenging.

8. Go to A Festival in Melbourne

Commonwealth SquareMelbourne has a tonne of festivals. The Comedy Festival, which runs through April, is a great place to catch world-renowned (and upcoming) comedians live.A highlight for me at the Moomba Festival, which takes place over the Labour Day long weekend in March, is the yearly procession down Swanston Street and the Birdman Rally. The latter is purely a matter of sight and belief.Early November’s Spring Horse Racing Carnival, which features a full week of horse racing at Flemington with the Melbourne Cup as the highlight, is what I think of as the unofficial start of summer. Everyone should go and experience this at least once in their life, in my opinion. The Australian Tennis Open and the Grand Prix are additional events. The majority of the year is filled with significant events.

9. Take a Day Trip to Daylesford

Victoria MarysvilleA little over an hour’s journey north lies the lovely little village of Daylesford. Along with the neighbouring Chocolate Mill, there is excellent dining and the Sunday markets are also worthwhile excursions.Though it is often a touch cooler than Melbourne most of the time, this is a fantastic location to visit at any time of year.

10. Enjoy a Sunday Session

Any of the aforementioned suburban bars and pubs are undoubtedly fantastic places to go on Sundays, but The Penny Black is my particular favourite since they also provide a Sunday roast for those who want to partake in a lovely, traditional Sunday supper.

On a Sunday, I’ve never been let down by the fare, beverages, or ambience there. With outside heating and wintertime protection from the weather, it’s also good all year round.

I also enjoy going to the pubs on Chapel Street since many of them give you a free dinner when you buy a drink. On a Sunday, people feel content and at ease. All I can say about my Sunday sessions is that they were great.

11. Dance the Night Away at Bimbo Deluxe

I spent a lot of amazing nights at Bimbo Deluxe, which had a rooftop outdoor beer garden, a dance floor, a dining space, and a tonne of cosy sofas.

For the younger crowd who like dancing to music other than what is played on the radio, this one is for you. After a fire in 2018, Bimbo Deluxe renovated and rebarned itself. Kewpie Bar is now the name, and it’s as well-liked!

Bond Lounge is a wonderful club if you enjoy hip-hop. Additionally, there are many of excellent choices in Fitzroy, St. Kilda, the downtown, and along Chapel Street. Everyone will find something to like.

12. Visit the Museums and Galleries

Melbourne is a city rich in culture with several top-notch museums and galleries. The Melbourne Museum and Royal Exhibition Building, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image are a few of the most well-liked museums to visit.

Discover Australian history, take in some of the city’s most stunning artwork, and broaden your cultural horizons.

Consider going on a street art tour if you like contemporary art tour.

13. Take children’s to the Zoos Melbourne Airport Travel attractions

Giraffes at Melbourne’s Werribee Zoo

There are some wonderful zoos in Melbourne that your children will adore if you’re seeking for family activities.

A safari-like experience may be had at the Werribee Open Range Zoo. Giraffes, zebras, and rhinos are just a few of the African creatures that call it home. Due to the fact that these creatures require a lot of area to wander, the park gives them it, and tourists may experience a true natural safari.

Melbourne Zoo, the main zoo in Melbourne, is another well-known zoo. It is a top-tier zoo and is situated within Royal Park in Parkville.

Werribee Open Range Zoo, Kyabram Fauna Park, and Healesville Sanctuary are really owned by Melbourne Zoo.

Purchase your Melbourne Zoo tickets right here! Now click here to purchase tickets for Werribee Open Range Zoo!

14. Watch the Sunset Over the Shrine of Remembrance

World War I and II memorial at Melbourne, Australia’s Shrine of Remembrance

One of Melbourne’s most significant monuments is the Shrine of Remembrance. To honour soldiers who had died in the First World War, the mauseoleum was inaugurated in 1934.

It was built shortly after the war ended in the Kings Domain Gardens and is frequently visited on Anzac Day, April 25, and Remembrance Day, November 11, each year.

Sunset is the perfect time for introspection since it casts the monument in a serene and lovely light.

15. Catch a Show at Arts Centre Melbourne

The Arts Centre in Melbourne, Australia, is the greatest place in the city to attend a play or musical if you enjoy performing arts and musicals.

The Arts Centre is a collection of performance spaces. The State Theatre, which has more than 2,000 seats, is the most well-liked theatre. Some of the biggest performers, acts, and acts in the city can all be seen here.

The State Theatre is underground and boasts one of the biggest stages in the world, which is unusual for theatres.

Accessing and Getting Around Melbourne

Getting To and Around Melbourne

You can use Public transport which could be bit complicated for New tourist or Best options or hire private safe Lux Taxi

The city is laid out on a very easy-to-navigate grid. The public transport system will get you to anywhere you may need to go, despite the odd cancellation. The most common way to get around is by the tram network, which runs through the entire city. There’s even a free tram service, known as The City Circle Tram, which is a zero-fare service just for tourists – it connects to all the major attractions in Melbourne such as the parliament house, old treasury building, and Docklands waterfront.

If you don’t use the tram, there is a bus and metro network, which uses the same ticket as the tram. If you’re heading to St Kilda, get the 96 tram – it runs express along an old train line, and will save you quite a bit of time.

Getting to CBD from the Airport

Get Private chauffers car  They will come inside Airport to Welcome and greet you which will cost around $90 They also offer a hotel drop off and pick up service, Also private day tour around Melbourne  – ask any questions or details from their contact informations at their website Elegant Chauffeurs and Melbourne private Tours,

A Normal Rank taxi to the city costs around $70-$80, depending on what time of day you’re travelling. I am generally very happy to stick with the Elegant Chauffeurs cars as They are Melbourne Reliable Premium taxi Services, Many of my friends and family Members already used their Friendly and professional taxi services, And Always nice and Premium cars to go to Melbourne CBD or hotel Transfers.

Bus is alternative and cheap options as well but i rather not prefer it  as its already tiresome and excuseted long flightsand to catch bus and you will have to wait in queue for bus. which could be around 30 mins 60 mins sometimes.

Best Time of Year to Visit Melbourne

Elwood Beach

Autumn (march – May) to early winter (June – July) is the best time to visit Melbourne. The weather is at its sunniest at this time of year, and there is generally a lack of weather extremes that occasionally hit in summer and winter.

Having said that, the weather is nowhere near as bad as other Australians would have you believe. Melbourne has a reputation for being a rainy city, but it’s usually a light rain or drizzle, so don’t let that put you off.

I love this city all year round.

Over 150 Dutch tourists stuck in Egypt

Over 150 Dutch tourists stuck in Egypt, The price of tickets for low-cost airlines for a specific route has a much larger spread than that of regular airlines. It depends on the time to departure, demand and competition on the route. Unlike regular airlines, low-cost airlines rarely offer cheap tickets more than 3 months before departure. This is because canceling a flight for which tickets have been sold is much easier than canceling a flight for which 100 tickets have been sold, so they stimulate demand only several months before departure when the flight schedule is already more stabilized. This is due to the desire to maintain flexibility in planning the route grid over the long term.

The price will depend on the demand for a particular flight. Low-cost airline tickets purchased at the cheapest fare cannot be returned or exchanged. The cheapest tickets are usually sold 15 days before departure. However, it cannot be said that when buying a ticket on the last day, you will definitely pay cosmic money for Over 150 Dutch tourists stuck in Egypt.

They will not feed you either. Although you will be able to buy lunch during the flight. However, given the flight time (in Europe it is usually no more than 2-3 hours), you, quite possibly, will not have time to get hungry.

A standard cabine-size suitcase. Probably, this option is not very suitable for a long trip, but if you decide to fly from Portugal to neighboring Spain for the weekend, then such a small suitcase is quite enough. The main thing is to follow the rules for carrying hand luggage: put scissors out of the cosmetic bag and pour all the shampoos-gels into bottles. Air carriers do not include baggage in the ticket price. For each piece of checked baggage, you will have to pay around 30$.

Most fly only with hand luggage. You can take on board only one piece of hand-luggage (that is, a laptop bag must be put into a backpack, for example), and it must meet the requirements that the airline imposes on luggage. Sometimes at the check-in counters you may be asked to lower your suitcase into a special box in order to understand that it fits the size.

Despite the fact that many consider it more rational to go on the road in the evening, in order to go in the afternoon or even in the morning to meet the holiday joys and local attractions, we will try to refute this statement. Firstly, in the morning the probability of a flight delay is slightly lower than in the evening, and secondly, in the morning there is less turbulence, which makes the flight more comfortable for aerophobes. So, if that matters to you, try reconsidering your travel departure times.
